Currently reading Sing You Home by Jodi Picoult. I just finished The Pillars of the Earth today and thought it was brilliantly written. They are completely different genres and it goes without saying that labels are the least important thing to consider while choosing for a good read. About 900+ pages for Pillars of the Earth, but I think it's easy to get through the book because of the anticipation. The constant battle of wits & violence will keep you going. Even if the words are so tiny you wish you are reading it with a magnifying glass.

I'm not biased, but the theme to Sing You Home is refreshing. I can foresee drama, but I also know one thing: Love knows no boundaries. And I hope there is a good ending. I like to think that I'm not a mainstream person, yet I probably wish that movies/books all have a good ending.

Anyway, music that I heard and like this week: Les Butcherettes & Company of Thieves.

Sainthood

Tegan and Sara's Sainthood arrived yesterday night. It was superb. I read On and In (from On/In/At) and they are great. I'm also very proud of the fact that the local music stores have Sainthood on the new release rack, and people are able to listen to it in the stores. It's incredible.

I am very in love with The Cure (By Tegan) and Alligator (by Sara) and a lot more songs from Sainthood. They are awesome!!And, Sara is still a badass.

i'm running out of topics to blog,but,i will continue to update.you'll have to forgive me for my lack of creativity.i gotta say,even though it might make me look bad, but i bought 7 books from the book fair last week!ok,let me hear you say it...nah,i'm really proud that i bought 7,because i didn't go any further.imagine if i said 10!i got a jodi picoult,a stephen king,an autobio of nelson mandela and several others (not that i forgot..)

i was thinking a whole lot these few days.maybe it was my sore throat or fatigue but just felt like every country in this world should allow gay marriage to be legalized.why?don't you think it is time?

marriage isn't about the next thing to do, definitely isn't about having children,isn't about tying someone down,is when you feel like you need to give your partner every inch of protection you can give him or her.it is when you know your partner is eligible to many of the benefits from government,work or insurance if you have that marriage certificate.it is when you are lying on the hospital and your partner isn't allowed to visit you or register your name/insurance details with the hospital.it is when your partner sits and waits for your family to arrive and you wonder why he/she isn't beside you yet.marriage is that thought,to give your other half everything possible,to know that even if you're not there anymore for him or her,you are leaving your partner with enough money/benefits to continue living,to allow him/her to only need to worry about his/her own sorrow of losing you.that's what marriage is.

Going into the office this morning to read about Michael Jackson's death.It's a loss.I bet everyone knows who MJ is..Well, not only because of the past years scandals, but the music.Man..from Jackson 5 to his solo career.Remembered watching a Jackson 5 documentary on Star World years ago and it was quite fascinating. I don't care whether he is troubled or not,because it's a personal matter.But,if it wasn't for songs like 'I'll Be There', 'Billie Jean' 'Thriller' and my all-time favourite, Beat It (haha,yes,I sing Beat It whenever I go to karaoke)..Remember when Slash played the solo for Beat It in one of the tribute concerts for Michael Jackson?That was awesome.Weird or not,he is still the king of pop.No way I'm gonna use past tense, just like we don't forget who the king of rock is.

RIP..Farrah.You could be at whatever age,you still look incredibly amazing.Hope you find peace, wherever you are.

i have a few songs from fleetwood mac..and i don't think anybody can say that they haven't heard of stevie nicks before, even if you haven't, you probably heard her sing before. one way or another.I just love PS22, not just because they are children, some are facing difficulties in academic or other areas, but also because the teacher seemed to love what he is doing, and most importantly,children get to express what they want to express.i love the song landslide,mostly because of the words, but the children, they made it that much better.

i wished i could tell you that laura lee and euna lee were released from north korea. i wished i could tell you that i jumped for joy, especially waiting over the weekend for the news of these two reporters. i wished i could tell you that i have misjudged north korea as a country, but i can't. 12 years in labor camp?are you kidding me? what are we doing for these two reporters who are just doing their job?petition will never work with north korea.seemed like a game of politics. it's like they are held hostages for some bargaining power with the rest of the world.i don't know what to make of this news, but i feel really bad for them. i am scared, and i feel their families' anxiety. i feel like there are millions of things to say, but then it wouldn't help. i wished i could tell you that i'm having a great day. but i am not.

I'm blogging from my new place..It's not a fantastic house but it's a place to call home.It's expensive and I'm worrying about everything right now, the rent, my salary,groceries.It's scary to think that most of the salary will go to rent,electric/water/gas/internet/telephone bill.And all other people could think about is coming to my place and crashing it.I don't need it,thank you,unless you are going to contribute to the rent.I'm not unwelcoming,I have a lot invested in this place.
I'm disappointed about the California ruling the past week but am relieved that the other couples who got married (i.e: Ellen and Portia,haha).But a fellow Malaysian who is now living in the States posted something in Twitter that made me realized that even if they upheld that ban,people are still talking or debating about it.But,if you look at another country,nowhere else,just look at Malaysia,my home,my pride and joy,we don't even talk about the GLBT community there.It's as if being gay is a fault.I am stunned when I heard Kate Perry's song being censored on the radio.
I'm not going to label myself,I'm still exploring my own sexuality and really,if I'm to fall in love with a girl,or a guy,it should be equally alright.

yesterday was a terrible day.not only did the job didn't go too well,learning the fact that adam didn't win was a double blow.it was gilles,now adam.It's sad..That people can't recognize talent when they see them..It's sad because everyone has their own likes and dislikes, but to not like adam or gilles?I can't see it.Like I said before, I love Kris Allen, I definitely love Shawn Johnson, and of course Melissa, but yeah,I still think Adam and Gilles should win in the respective reality shows.If you don't like Adam because you think he screams or wails when he sings,you haven't actually listen to music before.You are not qualify to even comment on people who wail when they sing. Listen to more music, seriously, and not some pop crap that you're listening right now.And the things that people say in Youtube about Adam being gay,bla bla bla,a big WTF...!I mean,what has that got to do with anything?Who gives a rat ass about his sexuality?He can sing, you know it,and I know it.Well,unless you have a problem hearing,you have zero excuse to dislike somebody like Adam Lambert.Theatrical?Have you not watch Freddie Mercury from Queen?Screaming?Especially when he's screaming in tune?Have you not heard about rock n roll or metal?It isn't Pop Idol,yes??Do you know what an Idol is?I love Adam and you know when I have fallen in love with Adam?It was pretty late.I used to think,hmm,talented guy,but week after week,that potential rock-god singing whole lotta love, crying..Man,all those performances?Damn freaking great!

Watched Escala on Oprah Winfrey Show. How could 4 women,playing string instruments,look so hot??My,my..fanning myself each time I watch them play.And can you believe I was head-banging to their music?Listening to them playing Live and Let Die,Kashmir..Woo hoo,they didn't win British Got Talent last year,but who cares?They are talented,and I think they just brought classical music back to life!Their new album is coming out,guess when,on my birthday!And they will be playing with Slash!!Ahh..the joy of listening to classical music and classic rock..Now that's what I call music..

Oh my freaking Buddha,did the finale just happened or did I dream it?I do think it was a great finale,but I think Adam's performances in the previous weeks were equally spectacular or if I could say, sometimes even better than the finale's performances. Well, with the exception of singing Ring of Fire..I still don't get it. Other than that,I bow to you,Adam Lambert,for you brought the hope of having a rock singer winning the American Idol. We saw what happened to Chris Daughtry but you brought us all hope.Thank you for bringing us back classic rock. And just because Kris plays the guitar,doesn't make him an acoustic rock singer,okay?I love Kris,maybe not as much as Adam,but I really think that he screwed up Marvin's What's Going On big time.Oh,whatever,I don't care,he's good and he has his own genre.

I really think Adam should front a rock band..don't you agree?Let's see,he sang Led Zep, Aerosmith,U2, The Rolling Stones..What if he tried AC/DC..or Skid Row..or Nirvana..or Guns N Roses...?Can you imagine him singing Welcome to the Jungle? Or I remember you?Man..Steven Tyler and him should do a duet together,and they can start wailing in the middle of the song while Joe Perry does the solo..The dream of having rock back into our lives. Not forgetting our Miss Allison Iraheta!She could probably front a band too..Or she can do a duet with Heart like Carrie Underwood did.Hm..dream on till' your dream come true!!

P/S: Talking bout' duets..Maybe Carrie should do one with Motley Crue??I used to listen to Home Sweet Home by Motley Crue everyday,had it on as my ringtone, bring it on Carrie, you're the country-slash-rock chick!

yesterday was awesome,you guys!thank you.I am very bad at expressing myself,but I love you guys so much!it's freaking expensive and I really didn't want you to spend so much for my birthday.But I loved every moment of it,though I was very tired.I'm blogging this because it's the little thing that I could do to express my gratitude.
I've found a house to rent with Margaret and yeah,it was an expensive one.I just want to say to my family to not to worry that much about everything.I'll be fine,one way or another,and it's an experience,I'm going to grow up with it.I am overwhelmed with love.I don't know what I did to receive so much love but I am so grateful.These couple of days have been freakishly emotional.Three words for all of you who knows me,who love me for the person that I am,I LOVE YOU.Enough said!

Happy Wesak to all Buddhists and non-Buddhists out there.I miss SJBA!I miss celebrating Wesak with everybody back in Malaysia (I thought I was going to observe the 8 precepts for Wesak this year,well,failed to do so).I am going to start thinking about going to meditation classes but I have to look around.There are too many different types of Buddhist meditations here.I don't even understand why there are that many different schools of Buddhism.Theravada,Mahayana,Tibetan,Zen and others.I know why there are theoretically,but I just don't see the purpose of having so many sects.

You know why American Idol Season 8 sucks?Because Allison is out.She should be in the final 2 with Adam.Come on,are people deaf or what?After yesterday's performance,you don't think she deserves a spot in the finale?I am so disappointed.I mean,after belting out tunes like 'Alone','Don't Speak' and 'Cry,Baby'..you can't see her as a potential American Idol or the runner up?I mean,I love Adam,but I also think Allison has the chops to be in the finale.And to compare Allison with Danny..it's like Allison has better weeks compared to Danny.What's with singing 'Dream On',anyway,Danny?You never ever try to scream or imitate Steven Tyler.Plus,it was so bad that I just fast forwarded the last part where he tried to sing like Steve Tyler.I don't believe this!

P/S: I don't think Adam is a rock god yet,but he is definitely rock god in the making.
Oh,and a little something to remind us why it is extremely difficult to sing an Aerosmith song.Especially when it comes to 'Dream On'.

the hour i first believed

i finished the book..so peeps, SPOILER ALERT!if you want to read this book,or going to read this book,you do not want to read this post.Trust me.I will spoil every little fun you are going to have,because this is my blog and I really need to talk about this book or I'll die.
Anyways,great book,Wally Lamb!Amazing,I know you won't disappoint.I cannot imagine myself being anybody in these characters and could survive and stay strong like how they were written.I kept asking myself if I could continue living if I were Caelum.And reading this book made me realize that you could experience the worst things in life and still be there for the people you love.It is alright to feel regret and learn from it,not avoid it.Highlights from the book..and the ending made me sad & happy at the same time.But yes,at one moment,I felt like strangling Wally Lamb and asked him to have a little more mercy.Well,it IS his book..
Highlights:
1: Mr Lamb used a real school-shooting incident in the book.It was painful to read all the diaries' entries and the mockings,taunts from the killers during the shootings, and the video footage.The description was very vivid and the part that bugged me the most is Mr Lamb's reminder to us all that shootings in schools still happen.Nothing has really changed.
2: Maureen's traumatic experience and her self-destructing events.I didn't know at first why the Seaberrys were introduced until that accident.Painful?You cannot imagine.When Maureen took the residents' drugs and used it for herself,I wanted to just stop reading and yell out,"Go talk to Caelum or your shrink!Please don't use drugs..Please".The part where this student commented that Maureen dishonored the victims from the shooting incident by using drugs and killed a man, that was a rude wake up call,not only for Maureen,but also for me.
3: Caelum Quirk, husband of Maureen and the main character for this story.His childhood was cleverly written.When Mo (Maureen) was in jail and the new tenants moved, the stories of his ancestry became the subject of the story.Caelum was brought up by his mom,aunt,grandfather but not his father.There was this thing his mom said once when hugging him that Caelum never hugged back.It was only at the end that he realized biological mom or not doesn't matter,Rosemary was his mom,she brought him up.
4: The final days of Mo.She was helping out in the hospice care in jail and was definitely feeling better from all the traumatic experiences. I love the part when Caelum went to talk to her about his family and how she provided advice,support to her husband.How she invited him to the first mass in jail.How he waited for her,counting the days that she will be freed.How Caelum and Velvet be with Mo during the mass before she died suddenly in jail.Yes,this is the major spoiler.This is the part when I felt somebody tearing up my heart like a piece of paper.Because like Caelum,I counted too.I made mental notes on how many more months/years she would be freed.
5: The transformation of Velvet Hoon,the girl that has no parents around to look out for her.Rebellious in high school but a great writer nonetheless.The way she called Mo her mom,her school nurse because Mo listened to her and cared for her.The way she burst into the courtroom when Mo was sentenced.The way she stuck around in Three Rivers because she wanted to visit Mo in prison.The way she worked with sculptures and found what she loves to do.The way she finally called Caelum 'Dad'.The way she fell in love with Jesse Seaberry and married him.The way she told Caelum that he was going to be a Grandpa.Rebellious or not,screwed up or not,she definitely went through a long road to be a better person.I love the way she found family and passion.

Okay,this is about all that I should write.Again,thank you,Mr Lamb for the book.And of course for 'I Know This Much is True".I am forever grateful that you became a writer and brought us these books.Keep it coming!

end of an experience

I'm done with exams.Well,once the administration checks my credits and courses,I'll be done with university too.The feeling hasn't sunk in though.I'm still feeling stressed out.I don't know whether because that last exam was so difficult that it wore me out completely, or whether I am still worrying about jobs and my future, or whether I'm just too overwhelmed with everything that I could not relax.Right after I'm done with that freaking exam, I started reading Wally Lamb's The Hour I First Believed.I know,what is up with me?I feel super nerdy telling you this, or rather, I am super nerdy.But,it's difficult to not want to read his book,y'know?Because I read I Know this much is true years ago and I was just blown away by the way he writes.But..it is painful to read his books.The recollections,the characters' childhood...I am consumed with sadness when I was reading the first book,now I'm feeling it again.
Oh,I was watching Oprah last week and saw the clip for My Sister's Keeper.I wanted to cry when I watched that clip.I know I can't wait till' June when it premiers,but I also know that I will cry.It's gonna be a tearjerker.I'm looking forward to watch Sofia and Abigail.I only watched Sofia in Medium and Abigail in Little Miss Sunshine,but both are great young actresses..
And Miss California,I respect your views on marriage and how you were brought up to believe that marriage is between a man and a woman, but because I have the choice to disagree,I will do so.Because nobody,IMHO,can define love.Marriage is base on love.Oh,and from your answer?The one that says people are given a choice to get married,we all know is not true.
I hope that Chrysler filing for Chapter 11 and the swine flu pandemic won't hurt anyone of us.More people are going to be jobless,some might not even have a 6-8 months emergency fund (sorry,too much Suze Orman), and some might lose their homes.When you think the economy is recovering,a new wave comes.And the scariest thing?We have no idea what to do.

Man..I didn't know how much I missed her until I came across this video.I've watched every episode of the third season of this competition.And she was definitely one of the reasons why I watched this competition.To watch her singing a duet with Alin. She left us with memories and I'm happy that I've watched this competition, all through the way.Though she has ended her own life, she somehow forgot that she left us all,the fans,the people who has just started to love her voice.I miss her.I hope that no matter where she is now,she would enjoy peace.

the past week was somehow a rude awakening..to me,at least.we just learned that hostel isn't going to let us stay for the summer,forcing us to rent a house much more earlier.and without a job yet,it's going to be expensive.to add to everything else that's been going on,i am down with a bad sore throat.i know clearly that i screwed up the interview yesterday.my voice was raspy and i didn't feel like talking at all.i admit that i'm scared.Scared of my future,scared of what's going to happen and how everything is going to turn out.I know I'm trying,and it's difficult,but it's okay,because I'm not losing hope.
Talking bout' hope,yes,I've watched Susan Boyle,the Youtube new sensation.She was amazing.It was her spirit,that hope she bore all these years that made her amazing.And I think even if we say we don't judge people by looks,we do judge,one way or another.I think she made us realize that we can judge all we want but she has the final say.I posted another song for my blog..I stumbled across this version on YouTube and was questioning how did I not watch it when it was streaming online in 2004?Man,I missed rock n roll!

how much is too much

Watched The Oprah Winfrey Show over the weekend.Thanks to the great Internet, I am now able to watch Oprah again.And what got me thinking was that episode where Dr Laura Berman, a sex therapist, came on and talk about 'how to talk to your kids about sex'.I am subscribed to Oprah's newsletters and all that so I know beforehand what each topic was going to be about. It wasn't just about how to talk to children about sex, but it was about how to let them know that it is normal,how to normalize things.
The highlights of the show?The 10-year old kid who wanted to know about sex and Dr Berman taught her mom what to say to her.And the details,well,let's just say I don't think my parents will ever say to me.But,it was the parent's willingness to talk about it and how well she did it that made me applaud like a crazy woman in my room.It was honest and stressing about how normal it is was what made it for me.
Another thing was when Dr Berman was telling the audience and the viewers about self-stimulation or masturbation..Man,I could swear the whole audience went,"What!!??"And Oprah said something really important..That you know what happens or feels like when you have your first intercourse,and you won't feel like whatever you are feeling is due to your partner's actions.But,I don't think parents would be ready to talk to their children about things like these.And I don't really think they need to tell the children that.

I don't think the topic is controversial,it's an eye-opener on how much teenagers have already known.They talked about it,just like I did when I was younger,with some friends.Remembering an episode of Dr Phil on Oprah about something similar,he said you don't have to do anyone a favor,hoping that you will get love and approval in return.I think what parents should tell the kids is that you are in control of your own body,nobody else can help you with it,and that if someone else tells you to do something to be loved,you can tell him/her that you love yourself too much to need to do so.

We were talking about Lan Kwai Fong the other night and my friend said I was quite defensive on this topic..Maybe I was,but you know me,I have reasons for everything that I do,not wanting to admit I rather stay in my room and read,or watch TV or other things that are dull enough to bore people to death.What I think I was trying to say was until now,I don't have a reason or purpose to go clubbing yet.Firstly,nobody ever asked.I was always the one who got asked when it comes to singing k,watching movies,dinners or things like that,but when it comes to clubbing,nobody ever asked me to go with them.And yes,I would go,someday,to dance (however,my dancing is restricted to swaying from left to right,haha)and to go to clubs.I'm never going to say never,but I don't want to do something that I'm not feeling excited about.And right now,the idea of clubbing doesn't excite me at all,especially if you compare it with going to the movies.

Anyway,yeah,I'm a The L Word addict/fan,so it is only fair if I talk about the show and the characters/actresses all the time,even if the series has ended.I only watched the first season last December and finished the rest of the 5 seasons in only 3 days.It's an incredible series,so,viewers and friends,I hope my love for the series and everything in it will not bore you.

the finale has wasted so much of my time.i anticipated anxiously for it,and trust me,it was BAD.except when Bette asked Tina to marry her.I will miss TiBette so much.It's heartbreaking to see such a good series end with a finale like this.It was crappy and it didn't do any of the casts justice.Especially to Mia..I mean,she is such a great actress and to have that unexplained death for Jenny?Don't even get me started with the interrogation.However,I'm still glad TLW was created.I will forever be thankful to all the cast and crew of TLW.It was a great series.i admit,i almost cried when i was finished with the finale.how many series could do this to the viewers?Thank you,especially JB and LuH for TiBette.I am forever grateful cause you showed us that sexuality did not matter,it is love that matters.

i have never seen so many standing ovations in my lifetime..call me shallow or whatever you want,but this morning, when President Obama was addressing the Congress..man, he just finished a sentence and everybody gave him a standing O..then they sat down.and he continued with another sentence,and they gave him another standing O...and you could actually see the opposite party,the Republicans,sitting there,expressionless and were so reluctant to stand up.like him or not,i don't think anybody could say that was a bad speech,wasn't it?it was a great speech!loved the way he introduced his wife..

the holidays were way shorter than expected..i was so pumped up when i was flying back to m'sia..but when it was time to fly back to HK..i got all emo and wanted to cry..this is the reason why i refuse to go back..cause i would regret not doing more at home..and i really miss the japanese baby!boy,was he cute!!i was using all of my charms(uh hem...) to at least make him like me..i think he did,a bit..it was a nice holiday..i went karaoke-ing four times!woo-hoo!!!yes,it took all the stress away..
i came back with projects and exams waiting for me..will try to dedicate more of my time to volunteer with some of the organizations here in HK..may all be well and happy!sadhu x3!

I got goosebumps all over!I believe in change!I just heard one of the best speeches and I almost got teary..That lady,who came to our college assembly last week,who called herself a government official,should really listen to Barack Obama's inaugural speech!I don't want to undermine anybody..but I don't believe anyone can fake emotions and feelings and when he said that God made everyone equal..that was the point where I got overwhelmed with pure happiness..We are all equal..Some people should remember that..I will work damn hard to try to remember that!It is okay to dream,and nothing should come in between.Goosebumps and my throat tightened in the 20 minutes speech.I didn't believe in hope..But I can see some now..I hope there could be change in my country too..And to the entire world.

In less than 14 hours, President-Elect Barack Obama will be sworn in!CNN and CNBC will start showing the inaugaration celebration from 1800 today..Once I'm done with MGT3040 today,I will be back to the hostel to watch either channels and wait till 1 a.m. for Barack Obama to take the oath as President.Why am I interested?First, I don't believe race and religion should divide anybody...and this is the time that we can see that race does not matter.Secondly..I have supported him since October/November 2007,when the prelims debate for Democrat candidates first started..Aretha Franklin performing!
Did my first volunteering work on Sunday,loved it, and should have done it much earlier..It's also nice to see such a fully equipped nursing home for the elderly in HK.The residents are so friendly and were really competitive!

I think I am suffering from sciatica..I mean,it has been a problem since I was 18..It came back again on Monday after about 10 months of leaving me to think that it would come back to haunt me again..It hurts so much.I took painkillers and it didn't help much..I don't know what to do and I don't want to get addicted to painkillers..There are some suggestions about surgery but I have no idea about this matter..I hate this..Walking is a big problem..Let alone doing other activities..I just hope this won't last longer than a week..

Happy New Year!Though I did not come up with new resolutions, I hope that everything will go well in 2009, for everyone.Will be starting my last semester this Monday and am eager yet reluctant to graduate.Two weeks of holidays seemed a bit too short, but I think I did all that I could during the holidays.I read a few books...Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult, The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks, True Believer by Nicholas Sparks, Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and Living History by Hillary Rodham Clinton. Loved Living History..Am glad I bought the book...Planning to by more autobiographies in the near future.
Anyways,I have so much to say and do and hopefully,I would be able to do good in this coming year.Have a great new year and let's prepare for the Lunar New Year!

this is the book i read this morning and i swore i could not take my eyes off this book once i started. i read the notebook over the summer.i will forever be grateful to Margaret, my summer ex-roommate for lending me her Nicholas Sparks collection when I have nothing to read and was bored waiting for the books I booked through HKALL to arrive.the notebook was good but the wedding...i almost fainted and cried.happy but with tears welling in the eyes.i was so upset in the morning due to reasons i will never mention but the book made me realized that anything else did not matter.message in a bottle broke my heart and i will remember the pain i felt when i read the last part of the book...but,the wedding..it's the opposite.i will never forget the way i felt today..
i know i used to say that love stories are not books that i will read but i think that i used to be a very narrow minded person.i also finished love in a time of cholera by gabriel garcia marquez..it was beautiful...i love it more than one hundred years of solitude..i love holidays.

p/s: lying to my mom about not coming home for CNY is killing me...i don't realize how much i miss her,and i love her so much.i wished she know this ..and i'm trying to come up with something nice for my family.my mum is my backbone and i hope that i could be the daughter that she is proud to have

i got so hooked up with this series this past few days..it's about a group of friends who are lesbians and the story revolves around them..i love it..it's really intense..i love Bette and Tina!what's up with the on and off relationship for 5 seasons??they are so obviously in love with each other since season 1!!i just hope in the next season, which is the last season (boo-hoo), they would let them stay together after a really great 5th season.it's a great series,with only about 11-12 episodes for one season.if anyone have the time, and am totally fine with homosexuality and nudity, this series is so much more..can't wait for season 6!

if you have seen the right hand corner, you would be able to see the link to a blog by s.dhammika..i'm not promoting but i just wanna say that i got goosebumps reading most of his posts, just like listening to ajahn brahm talking about the teachings of the Buddha..it reminds me of why i want to be a Buddhist and why I chose to observe the Five Precepts in a daily basis.i missed going to Buddhist temples to listen to Dhamma talks..but well,i have subscribed to some Buddhist podcasts..that oughta help..hehe.anyways, if you have the time, visit Dhamma musings..

thanks to the power of 3G, i got to see the japanese baby that my mom is babysitting for..he just made my day. he bowed when my mom said 'Konbawa'..and he's just over a year old..he took the broom and tried sweeping the floor...haha, that was not the funny part..the funny part is where he kissed the broomstick...*faint*..i was so jealous when he kept kissing my sis on the cheek.like 5 times..he is such a sweet kid...and he knows how to call my sis 'jie jie'..i think my mom is giving him all the Chinese influence..and my mom is so cute..she wore my wushu t-shirt..it's a sacred t-shirt to me,ma!the t-shirt brought back some of the memories of the past and i realized how much i missed wushu!

well..shaw's high table dinner is really getting better and better. they are going to invite miriam yeung to talk to the students! i mean..after having eric suen this semester, i really thought that they couldn't do much better than that. i am amazed at what my college can do under the new college head..too bad i'm graduating soon..but i really think that he is doing a great job as our college head (he was really friendly during shawlane..taking pictures with students..he was like a star).

went to the 28th HKIHRM conference as a student helper last wednesday and thursday..well..it was pretty easy..except for the painful high heels..and i get to earn money from the conference. it was really fun..get to know people and listen to some of the executives talking about human resources and staffing.i liked lorriane hanh as the facilitator in one of the talks..i mean, it was great to watch her on tv, but to see her in person, it was an eye opener, and she was a great commentator, engaging the speakers with the current events. well..i screwed my MGT 4010 exam by not seeing the word 'corporate'..losing about 20 marks..damn...
that's pretty stupid..

suddenly i feel so empty..i have no directions whatsoever..all those things that i planned don't seem to work out..i am thinking of plan b,c,d...but all i could come up with..nothing.i am worried like hell about my future,and what is lying ahead of me.i can't describe what i am feeling right now,but i just feel like for the first time,i have lost control of the dreams that i have since young..yeah,i could do a lot of better than this,i know.

i hope that nobody would perish because of some group of people's actions..but it's not like i could do anything..and i hate it when I couldn't do anything.it's just sad...who in the world gave this people a right to take others' lives...nobody in this world have the power to do that,alright?!i just wish this whole thing would stop and i'm not being naive...because i believe that THIS could stop
